We're So Proud...

Connor was recently awarded the Wheels in Motion award for his above and beyond actions in the community and at school. He won a bicycle and a helmet for his achievments.

Connor's actually been taking karate for several years now. But Devin decided on Christmas day that he wanted to take lessons, too. So, this is Devin at his first karate lesson. This is called 'Meditation Stance'.

Devin said before class that he wanted to be a 'Sempai' (a brown belt). "Not today or anything, but one day I want to be a Sempai." I truly don't know which one of them is more proud, Connor or Devin.

This is Connor and Devin right after visiting Santa. Look... aren't they cute?? Don't you just know that Santa's going to bring them everything they want for Christmas this year???

Awww...now isn't that sweet? What more could a mother ask for, but that her children love one another?

Yep, that's them, my precious little thugs...I mean boys.

Devin has become quite the camera addict...most children like to be in front of the camera, not behind it. But Devin loves to take pictures. So, this is Tom and I...double chins and all...needless to say, this is why you shouldn't let a 5 year old take your picture unless you are sitting at their level.

This is at Briley's dedication. Isn't she sweet? And Connor just can't wait to love on her. Devin was acutally videoing the celebration, so he wasn't in this picutre...

I thought this picture was hysterical! Devin really got into the whole decorating thing for Christmas this year. We didn't send many Christmas cards, but when I was sending them out, Devin wanted to send some out, too. So, he grabbed some of our "scrap" paper and some pencils and started creating. I looked up and he had 7 pencils ready to go at a moments notice! Who knew you were supposed to have so many??? Now I know what I've been doing wrong all these years! Thanks, Devin!

4 Days after Devin's birthday,we celebrate Connor's birthday. (We are very busy people during November because my mom's birthday is the day before Connor's.)

I'm Behind...

I'm so far behind! Yeah, what else is new, really? I'm just now getting around to downloading pictures to my computer from Christmas... imagine my surprise when I found those Birthday pictures, too!!
Anyhow... this is Devin... he's so proud of all his presents. Really, all those bags are empty, but don't they make a pretty picture?

So...here we are three days later and just getting around to updating the blog. (Truth be told, I had forgotten all about it until my sister called and said she had posted a comment!)

One of these days, I'm going to figure out how to post pictures and find cool backgrounds. Right now, it's sort of what you put in it... um, you guessed it, not much. But, what can I say? The boys are back in school and I've gone back to work since the holidays.

Poor Devin... of course he wasn't so crazy about school from day one. But, he's really had a hard time these past two days. Our normal conversation ensued on the way to school...each day is a variation of the same.

Devin: "I hate school"
Me: "Aww...school's not so bad. Go, learn all you can so you can make lots of money and be able to stay home when you grow up."
Devin: ...(if looks could kill I wouldn't be blogging...)
Me: "Hey, don't blame me...I didn't want to send you to Pre-K. It was your Dad's idea. He said he needed an excuse to get you out of the house so he could play your Nintendo DS."
Devin:MOM!!!

Now I know I'll never win Mother of the Year, but shouldn't the angel's smile when day after day your able to get the best of your kids verbally???

Getting Started

Here we are in 2009! A time for reflecting...time for creating new ways of thinking...of living. Hence, this blog. (Baby steps, baby steps!)

I've never blogged before, but how hard can it be? I may be more challenged with keeping it interesting, or keeping it updated than with the blog itself. We'll see.

Seriously, I've created this blog in order to share pictures and thoughts. Truthfully, my niece was born back in June...at just a few days old, she had her own blog. Naturally, my children think I'm the worst parent because they don't have a blog. Well, now they do... WATCH OUT WORLD!! :)
