Spring Break!!!

Today was the first day of the boys Spring Break! I took the day off to be with them and we headed to Chuck E. Cheese for food and fun!

Devin decided that he liked the cinnamon sticks better than the pizza.

The Deal or No Deal game was very popular with the Lejsek's.

Devin worked hard to get his "license". Just to be on the safe side, he got 5.

Even dad got into the action...Dad was a big winner at Deal or No Deal...he won 47 tickets in one game and made all the other "old men" jealous.

Watching Devin play these games always cracks me up!!! He yells at the game the whole time!!!

Connor calls this game his "Money Maker". Chuck E's already pulled out one game because Connor figured out how to hit 100 tickets on it everytime.

And here's the spoils of the day! Yeah, it looks like alot until you get up to the counter...
We had a great time!

Tournament of Champions

This weekend we traveled to Bowling Green for the most recent karate tournament. Team Kenpo did really well overall. Here are some pictures of Connor at the tournament.

"Judges, my name is Connor Lejsek. I represent Team Kenpo. With your permission, may I begin?" Each time the kids compete, they begin with this introduction to the judges... wonder what one of them would do if the judge said no???
Here's Connor being scored after his weapon forms.... it sometimes scares me that we've turned our 10 year old loose with these "weapons". But doesn't he look sharp with his new "Patriotic" kamas?

This is Connor after his open hand form. He won 4th place for his form.

Here's Connor getting ready to spar (he's the kid on the right, in the black gear)... the competition was tough this week. So tough, that mom decided to take a ringside seat!

This kick scored another point for Connor...first one to 7 points wins. Of course at this point, mom's on pins and needles! Connor took fourth place in sparring at this tournament.

At the end of the day, you collect any trophies you might have earned. This is always exciting for the kids (and parents)!! Afterall, this is what you work so hard for!!

Happy Birthday Grandad!!!

Friday the 13th doesn't always mean bad things...this past one was my Dad's Birthday. Devin and I met everyone at Texas Roadhouse to celebrate!
"No, it's not the Easter Bunny...it's me, Briley B!!"
"I can't believe I ate the whole thing..."
I have to say that I've never seen a baby eat as much as Briley does. She ate sweet potato, green beans, tomatoes, chicken, rolls and ice cream that Auntie Mel fed her.

Devin and Briley playing games...

...and sharing secrets.

Even though it wasn't Devin's birthday, he got to sit on the saddle, too. Grandad must have had good birthday cake...it appears that Devin's saving his for later.

Briley says, "Everybody say...Boom Chaka Laka... Happy Birthday Grandad!"
Thanks for inviting us to the party!!

New Family Members

We have two new family members! Two purple pincher, hermit crabs.

Here's Connor demonstrating the proper way to hold a hermit crab. Flat hands....that's the key!

This is a close up of Connor's crab, Pincher.

This is a close up of Devin's crab, Crusty...if you only knew how long it took to get these pictures!!

Busy Weekend

This past weekend was the first of the Karate Season. This tournament was in Smyrna, TN.
A few members of Team Kenpo- ready for action!!
This is Connor after he's run his open hand form. These were his scores.

Here is Connor getting ready to spar... this was his second match out of three.

And finally this is where he's rewarded for all his hard work... a 2nd place trophy in sparring!

After the tournament, it was time for church. Briley is the most dedicated LifeKID...she's there ALL the time. Of course, I suppose it makes a difference when your mom works there, huh?
Pulling hair seems to be a game...somebody's going to regret that one day.

After church we went to eat. This is Briley "working out" the spoon.

It's project season! Both Connor and Devin are in the middle of working on big projects for school. This is a picture we made of Devin.
